A Merry Little Christmas Party

I finally got my first Danish Julefrokost. I mean after living in Copenhagen for nearly three years it was about time haha. We had a nice little cozy evening with the girls and Rose made some amazing food and hosted the whole thing once again, she is truly and amazing cook! Since she is half vegan it was a modern interpretation of the typical Danish Christmas meal, because it is usually really heavy and meaty. So not only was the food delicious, it was also really healthy! I think we were all surprised by the lovely colors and flavors Rose managed to create. We had Salmon marinaded in beetroot juice with wasabi cream, two types of salads( one from red cabbage and the other with brussels sprouts and apples), home-baked bread, pomegranate salsa and dates baked with prosciutto and rosemary. So good! For desert we had some amazing marshmallows dipped in chocolate, strawberries with coconut cream dipped in coconut!!! And some candy haha.

I went to Rose's a little earlier to take some pictures of the setup, because it gets so dark these days really early and I needed at least a little of natural light to get nice sharp pictures. Bee ended up coming quite early as well and we curled our hair together haha i think Rose was thinking like wtf why did I ask them to come so early hahahaha. Simone arrived at 6:30 and we could start the exciting evening! It started snowing that day so we all arrived wet and looking a little strange ( make-up melted and that kinda stuff haha) . And the time we were done with the evening there were 15cm of snow everywhere and it took forever to get home! But the evening was totally worth the struggle!

We also played Pakkeleg, which is a typical danish game you play at the christmas table. You roll dice and try to get a 6 and then get presents and when everyone has their presents you keep on playing and you can steal other peoples presents hahahaha. With Bee we kept on stealing this one gift and we went back and forth maybe 10 times haha. So yeah, it was such an amazing evening with good food and great company!!! Enjoy the pictures!

My jsme to pojaly trošku moderně a lehce jsme pozměnily menu, jelikož půlku naší kupiny tvoří  vegetarián a vegan, tudíž by typické dánské jídlo nebylo úplně vhodné haha. Měly jsme lososa naloženého ve šťávě z červené řepy s wasabi krémem, dva druhy salátu( jeden z červeného zelí a druhý z kapusty), pečené datle s proscuitto šunkou a rozmarýnem a salsu z granátového jablíčka.
