Seville by Nima
Hey guys! So today we had a super busy day, and we are going to this huge party tonight- there wont be any pictures from it tho- I don't take my camera when I am drinking haha. So my friend Nima wrote for me today, because I was getting ready to go out! She is the dark haired one from the pictures! Cheers and talk tomorrow!
"We made it to Sevilla – after a winding train ride through Spain, because Martina hates RyanAir. It was a delightful ride with a bar, Cinderella and Iberian jamon sandwiches.
But, why are we in Sevilla? Because of Ida. A good friend of ours who is taking her final exams and needed emotional support.
The city is amazing. Every street corner is filled with architectural details; small terraces, decorative tiles and colourful engravings. There are references to Moorish inspiration throughout, and you can tell how the historic streets have hosted a variety of cultures through the centuries. Coming from the grey shades of Scandinavia, the colours of Southern Spain feel like a breath of fresh air.
We walked to the infamous ’mushrooms’ today, which is a lookout point that was completed in 2011 and designed by a German archictect. The official name is Metropol Parasol, and if you ever drop by Sevilla you should visit at sunset! Not only did we get to see the city covered in the red and orange lights of the sky, but afterwards the city’s highlights are lit up and we could enjoy the most amazing skyline. Personally, I fell in love with the cathedral.
What is it like travelling with Martina?
She makes sure we eat well. She takes a lot of pictures. She does not particularly like shopping. She definitely does not like taking cold showers. She laughs a lot! She kids a lot! She is always ready with a sarcastic comment or a look of comic disapproval.
Tomorrow Ida will be writing a guide of the city. Be excited. Be very excited.
Peace and Love, Nima"
