La Sagrada Família

DSC_0245

I am not particularly a huge fan of churches and stuff like that, but La Sagrada Família is the most beautiful thing I have ever seen. The design was taken over by Antoni Gaudí in 1883 and he worked on it until his death in 1926. It was designed to look like if you were inside the woods, with though thru colors and details. We were there just before sunset and the colors were AMAZING! So if you plan to go do it in the afternoon so you get the full sun load thru the colorful windows! It was my second time there, the first was a few years ago when I was traveling there with my parents. I remember the first few steps in the cathedral and I was overwhelmed from all the beauty. Just seeing the interior and thinking " this is not what I imagined". I must say that it was worth the few hour wait in the insanely long line. This time round it was better, there was no line and we could just go inside- traveling in January is really awesome haha. But still, walking in and thinking about how some genius designed such beauty. Seeing the Sagrada Família should be on everyone's bucket list! You can read more about the place HERE.
